Introduction

This is the story of my life as I remember it.   Not as it necessarily happened nor as I imagined it happened, just as I remember it. It is definitely not an autobiography, just memoirs.  Any witnesses are probably  too old to remember it any better than I do.  So who is there to complain?

The process of writing has really been the important part for me.   Creating this story has been a real joy for me.  As I wrote great and wonderful memories filled my mind.  And it’s been a lot of fun.

The completed story will belong to my children and grandchildren.  It is hoped that a few other friends and relatives will read it as well.  My fervent wish it is that the readers get some enjoyment as well as some tidbits of information.  If the reader can come away with a sense of what life was like in the remote parts of British Columbia during the 30s and 40s I will have accomplished all that I could ask for.

The reader will get a bonus I’m donating, free of any charge a great number of typos.  Actually these typos should be called misunderstandings.  I use a voice recognition program to do my typing and sometimes this program misinterprets what I’ve said.  In other words the program understood me.  So enjoy the misunderstandings.

I’ll leave you with this thought: It’s been a great life and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
